O no quisimos saberlo.
The holiday ended on Sunday 31 August. We were going through the airport in our shorts and flip-flops, waiting for our airplanes to take off. The recently-polished floor was a limbo of bankruptcy, but we didn’t know it. Or we didn’t want to know it. Fifteen days later, we watched on the news as the Lehman Brothers employees left with their cardboard boxes. We didn’t think that was a big deal, either.
